Run ins with the law and keepers yrs ago to now

Recommended Posts

in the good old days while poaching you had to be on your toes from cops and keepers but we loved every minute of it cat and mouse games switching lamp off sneaking around keepers yard slashing tyres nicking his ferets cutting fences no wonder they hated me! its funny tho i got permission further afield and it just wasnt the same as poaching :gunsmilie:

never actually felt the need to go slashing tyres and chopping down fences.kinda aking for trouble if you ask me.

nine times out of ten,the keepers never knew we were even there.

Its not so long ago that you had more than a reasonable chance of poaching sucessfully,i still ended up at Skipton magistrates a time or 2,now everybody as a mobile which puts the odds in the landowner and policemans favour, the Hunting ban does,nt help, what the police had to let you go for in the past they can now arrest and charge you for.It was a lot easier than it is now.

I use to give farmer,s every coutesy.Say no prob,s and walk away as he was screaming i.ll shoot your dog,s.His land his rule,s.Untill about six year,s ago.My son had a nasty experience with one. Some threat,s made and my lad ended up with a loaded shotgun stuck to his chest.Police got involved. But my lad still ended up in court Witch very quicky got dismissed. All this for walking in an empty feild with a four month old lab.Now they get nothing but contempt.

first time i got caught was 35 year ago and been in court a few times since but only a tiny fraction of the times i been chased been some close shaves and quite hairy ones over the years.last time caught was a few nights ago at 2.30 in the morning by the owner of an estate he calmed down when we told him he was driving early hours and pissed as a fart in charge of 30ks worth of 4x4.let us of and was quite polite after that .

I certainly wouldnt put a loaded gun to their chest, smash their motor up, Beat them up or call the police. I would let them tag along and if they were alright people, invite them back. :big_boss:
