minka79 1
HI, ive just bought two shotguns off a good friend i got them for a snip for the condition there in the only problem is the one that seems to fit me best had spit the ends of the barrel, the gun was sent to birmingham proofing and an 1 3/4" was cut of making the gun 26 1/4" ive been told its now a skeet gun. so i was hoping someone could tell me if i could buy some 28" barrels for this gun to return it to its former glory? i would prefer to keep the gun as its my first shotgun but i can only use shoot clays i cant seem to drop any thing at our driven phesant shoot. all advice would be greatly apreciated thanks Quote Link to post
airbourne 128
carn't see why you can not get new barrels, but whats wrong with 26 1/4" barrel i use a 26" s/s no problem take pigeons, pheasants, rabbits, hares, fox. i've also got a lanber 30" o/u but love me aya no4 s/s and use that more than me lanber. Dan_Mercian 27
I always thought that game guns were usually shorter than clay guns anyway? For the weight and manoeuvrability? Quote Link to post

halamrose 24
I think all they were saying by calling it skeet is it doesn't have much choke any more, and skeet is commonly shot with open chokes. I found this article about going after game with a skeet gun interesting http://www.gameandfishmag.com/hunting/pheasant-hunting/RA_1205_07/index2.html Quote Link to post
