BORDEM TOOK OVER

Recommended Posts

it looks sweet , i had a similar tape on my old springer but i recked the bluing on the barrel because the tape trapped water underneath it ( thats if its the gun and bow tape stuff ) , once its been on a couple months it leaves a dull covering on the metal but its easily removed with with a good clean , but it can really transform a gun my only problem was when it got wet and i dint think to do anything about it .

Thanks for that bud, i diddnt think about the water getting trapped, i never use it in the rain anyway but i suppose it could condense :hmm: ill have to keep an eye on that

i tryed to camo tape hw90k. last year and i tryed about 4 times to tape the stock but my god its hard toget every crease out. also line it up all the way round. you have done a better job then i did and i wasted over 4 rolls of the stuff at £9 a shot lol

4 rolls!!! harsh lol the stuff i used was a clothy stretchy material, you could just rub the creases and folds out, really good stuff............for the princely sum of one english pound :tongue2::thumbs: cheers mate

i once used some of that jack pyke stretchy bandage stuff on my old tx, the stuff they claim sticks only to its self on not your gear. it eventually turned all tacky on gooey and left sticky smears all over, and let water in. i've currently got some other camo cloth tape, that isn't stretchy, on my rifle. i too were worried about water/condensation getting under it so the guy in the gunshop recommended spraying my rifle with WD40, letting it dry, and doing it again, then putting the tape on, then spraying the tape with WD40 to create at least a bit of waterproofing. i've been out in the rain with the rifle and just had to peel a bit of tape off when i got in as i was cacking myself about whether it'd worked and the rifle was bone dry. now if the rifle gets wet i just give it 10-15 mins next to heater to drive off any surface water and re-spray with WD40. i will say though its only been tested in small amounts of rain before the rifle gets put away so i would only call the end result "showerproof"
