best laying chickhens ~????

cheers craigy and bert.well i live in a terraced house.but my backgarden is huge its a long garden if you know what i mean.i was just wondering.guess i could get a couple of hens.if they didnt lay or it wasnt working out.id just eat them.

There are too many Good Regular layers now on the market, however at very silly prices. Lots of newcomers who are not in the know how, will pay high prices for these birds from greedy breeders. :thumbdown:

 

I have a mixture of hybrids and pures, some mentioned already and have more than one name for the same type.

 

I enjoy regular eggs from my Welsummers and Marans, but you can't beat a good English Light Sussex.

 

Bantams are pretty, and girly, and will make your garden look nice. But for eggs, go for the big hens so to speak!

 

Be careful, chickens can be a very addictive hobby.
