Recommended Posts

my bitch is having problems with her due claws every time i take her out she is smashing them up. i was going to get them removed but ive been told by a few people that the scars allways open up. is this true? or would it be possible to strap them up when running her.

thanks hullhunter

Interesting question ? Ive never heard they open up but id like to know if they do!

You can strap them up ive seen ankle straps for dogs on a web site somewhere but god knows if they help ??

Do you have any idea how much it costs to remove them?

A friend of mine his dog had them off never had any problems with the scare opening up,i think it cost over 200 pound,my bitch has had problems with hers shes ok now but im gonna have them removed after the season,i think the raps take some getting used of i think every lurcher man who breeds pups should get them done they are a nightmare.

I've known several dogs have their dew claws removed at the vets as adults: no problem at all. Either the vets were rubbish or the owner ran the dog too soon after the operation: takes at least a month to be safe before running again.

I had them both off my dog,he was having a lot of trouble with them,,a big mistake, cost me nearly 300 quid, rested him up for ages, within a year one of them started coming back through so they done another op a little while back and want another £190 :icon_eek: : worst thing is the other one is starting to give him agg now :wallbash:

think they just didn,t take them back far enough in the first place...twats...
