kev2010 8
so dose a 17amp lithium battery last longer than a 17amp sealed lead acid? It would be down to the amp of the battery against the candle power of the lamp. Your part right. Its not the candle power of the lamp, but the wattage of the bulb & how many amps the buld runs at.If you look on my topics i did a thread on how to workout battery run times if your intrested. As for the original question,a 17ah batt is a 17ah batt.Though you will get better run time from better quality batterys.Other than weight.Lithium batterys take about half the time to charge & you dont get the memory effect with the charger/battery. They also have a flatter discharge curve & regulation so you get full brightness until the battery is discharged, rather than lamp gradually getting dimmer. Thanks Kev. Quote Link to post

Thanks Kev. that is 1 improvement ,it stays bright all the time and dos,ent get dimmer Quote Link to post
chanter 1
You have to ask yourself Where does the lithium come from that goes into these batterys Quote Link to post
Moll. 1,770
I use one Superb batteries, you can use one and carry a spare without even knowing you have them. Small and light enough to just stick in your jacket pocket Charge much faster than the old ones. They last about the same length of time...perhaps a bit longer. Dont have to disconnect loads of tape and wires to charge, dont have to tape up before you go out. Main disadvantage is they just got out when out of charge, no warning like the old ones going yellow. But i think they have brought new ones out now with a level indicator. thanks for that moll. has the snow gone yet and have you been up to much. ill pm you any ways. Got poachers here on the farm now, people calling the police, so literally too hot to go out in my own garden now so to speak Quote Link to post

Moll. 1,770
of the subject a bit moll ,but if its your land or you have permision then what does it matter On the farm i live on, plus surrounding permission. It matter a great deal if i cannot go out incase someone calls the police thinking it may be poachers. I have no trouble with 'one for the pot' poachers. But these people are churning up fields in 4X4's and leaving dead deer. Police are patrolling the area's, landowners have sent letters out to residents to tell them to phone police if they see anything suspicious. The way luck works, the poachers will never get caught, but you can bet your bottom dollar, if my dog is chasing a rabbit and a Roe gets up in front, the dog would switch, and i would get caught. I have lived here nicely plodding along for 5yrs, now have police turning up at the door, asking why i have a butchers block covered in blood in my yard, getting pulled in the car asking what i am doing. I now have to phone to police, tell them where i am going, what i am doing, get a reference number. Then phone them back when i get home. Not really very fair i now have to constantly have one eye over my shoulder because of some idiot's who just want to kill for killings sake in the laziest way possible...hardly hunting is it Edited January 19, 2011 by Moll.
