NEWKID 27,530
welcome mate... how did you get the bug? have you been out and worked ferrets before? or just wanted to keep ferrets and give it a go? Maybe someone close to you will let you tag along for a day out and show you the ropes If not read all you can and get out and learn yourself , you would probably wanna get a locator as well, you don't want to lose your new hunting companions Good luck Kev Quote Link to post

Fert gal 0
Hey, new to ferreting myself, very good idea to tag along with someone, i,ve got a hobb and 2 jills, went out with an experienced ferreter a couple of times and last weekend went it alone for the first time (with husband) and got 3 buns from 1 bury, excellent day and all ferrets worked well for newbies (or seemed to anyway!). It's very easy to get bitten by the bug but a brill way to spend time outside! Have fun, I am! Quote Link to post
theferreter 311
hopefully some body will help you out and let you tag along with them for a day as for your ferrets mate just keep handling them and the nipping will eventually stop and defentily get yourself a locator you dont wana be losing your ferrets on your first trip out anyway atb on finding a bit of ferreting ground Edited January 19, 2011 by theferreter Quote Link to post

jimster68 123
ive started ferreting this year after meeting a guy of this site ,i havent been out and bought all the gear yet as i wanted to see if i could hack it ,so most weekends ive been driving a 120 mile round trip to go out on his permission and ive also had a couple of nights lamping .ive been cought in a blizzard ,been out when it was -10,dug plenty of holes ,and been cut to ribbons by brambles .and to be honest ive loved every moment .so im looking to get myself set up for next season ,theres some good guys on this site .hope someone takes you out rather than struggling by yourself .
