paulsmithy83 567
I've been out a few times here and there on full moon, sometimes I could get one and I can remember one night last season I got 13 which was a shocker and it was in a place I would of probably struggled with good weather lol but it was first day on some new permission so used it just to learn the land and exercise the dogs mainly Quote Link to post
taurasmark 10
Just back, stood on the pup saw 3 rabbits whist Tia was leashed, walked a few more miles, saw nothing so I decided to head home and let her have a sneaky mooch on the cricket pitch "Naughty" next thing someone most have bowled her a fast rabbit because when I lamped up she was belting round like a mad hound. Anyway the rabbits live to die another day. Not been a bad year for UK cricket! And with regards to full moon lamping, erm well it's like a fat bird compared to gale force darker conditions Thanks for everyone's advice! Taurasmark. Quote Link to post

whin 463
hunted the moon several times useing the woods as cover but you have to no the land well you get big runs and most nites a good dog will catch out of the beam on a moon what i would say i dont go out to educate the game so i would just go to places were it doesnt matter if there there or not just a walk ,road sideing a quick shine here and there can be not to bad to msome places game have no choice but to feed so its in your intrest to look about on the grey dark to see whats on offer as on amoon theyl feed on the grey as its colder quicker all depends the game your after Quote Link to post
FUJI 17,209
To be honest i've had good nights infact very good nights when the moons been up BUT i'd say steer clear and wait for better conditions if running a pup as it can pick up reallyy bad habits with a big moon showing ie: hunting up if it misses, a cardinal sin for any worthy lamp dog? Very hard to stop too if it cotton's on to it..patience is the name of the game Quote Link to post
skinner 348
when i go out on a full moon i put my sun glasses on Quote Link to post

sowhat 1,572
Hi Guys, just had a look outside about a minute ago and I noticed that we are blessed with a full moon and about 1 tiny cloud in the sky! I had planned on using "cunning stealth tactics" I figured I'd keep my head down and hug the head rows but will I be wasting my time taking out the lamp n pooches and are any rabbits likely to out and about in these conditions??? Any advice would be appreciated mate just get out,iv just got back in ok conditions not ideal and wouldn't go early if the weather was a lot better but the dogs need their exercise and i f*****g hate road walking so might as well walk the golf course with a lamp for an hour, pup got to see a couple runs so all good, but i will say i have had some excellent nights over the years on a full moon Is it me, but do you find that them wabbits on golf courses like f...ing shit off a shovel Quote Link to post
