Can you fill a pre charged with a painters air compressor?

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone,

Can you fill a pre charged rifle with a painters air compressor, because everyone says that the air has to be very clean otherwise it will clog up the gun so they use a divers bottle which is filtered air, but the painters air compressor has filters on it because if it has the smallest bit of dirt in it it would ruin the finish of the paint so why not use it to fill a rifle?

as a panel beater and painter apprentice i would say no , the highest we ever run our spray guns on are 2.5 bar max and that for clearcoat .the average for primer and colour is 2 bar so no it wouldnt have the pressure and this is a big 3 phase compressor. plus i wouldnt want to,it just seems bodge in my eyes and its not something i would ever really comsider :) ,get a diving bottle mate :)
