gurtwurz 792
hi lads, normally i dont do politics(anarchist since the year dot...) but for once i feel the need. fair play to the CA for helping out unemplyed fellas- i bet that most of the fieldsports community currently minus jobs would give their back teeth for some work right now, and if the CA are trying to help em out in what is basically a shite time for em then all power to em in my book, we're not talking about chav tossers who wouldnt know a days work if it bit em in the arse, we're talking lads and lasses feeling the pinch and needing all the help they can get. i'm not the richest bloke around, but i can (just) afford employed fella's rates and i dont mind paying it out if its gonna be put towards an organisation that generally has my best interests at heart- its more than can be said for income tax, council tax or any other bloody government price hike! f k the system- but remember who's looking out for you!! cheers, wurz Quote Link to post

HUnter_zero 58
i'm not the richest bloke around, but i can (just) afford employed fella's rates f k the system- but remember who's looking out for you!! I think what we all tend to forget is that the CA will not lose money on any transaction, and as such the discounted rates could be applied across the board. God only knows, working or not it's hard times. I had a conversation with one of my customers yesterday, about how our communities have crumbled away, no one giving a hoot anymore. A sign of the times me thinks but something I think is going to have to change. Many of us have had the cream of life over the last five to ten years, although we may not admit it or even know that we have had an easy ride. Things are set to change and get allot worse, we will all need "discounted rates" at the rate the UK is going. John Quote Link to post
Treganin 2
I been unemployed for over 6 months now.....for me and mrs its hard.....i was bringing in £420 a week and to lose that in one go without warning is cr@p.....for me who has never been out of work since 15 its a slap in the face......my mrs say's it dont bother her but i know it does....and with all my kids aswel any discount offered is a godsend....i aint no dole bum and i aint no begger i would pay full price for insurance but if i can get it discounted i will take it....who wouldn't? Exactly. I'm in the same situation. I'm self employed and can't find any work and trust me I've tried. hi steve i understand were your coming from and all they pay is your stamp, which aint worth a wank!! now on the other hand if you was from another country ,you would get all the help you can and if i was unemployed,my spare £16.00 will be going on electric, gas, food for the kids!!!! regards davy I think of the insurance premium as an investment. £16 buys you the peace of mind to go shooting, knowing that if the worst should happen you are covered and you will hopefully alot put more food on the table than £16 would buy you. PeakOil 352
A very good deal for those who qualify, having been laid off a few times in the last 4/5 years you won't find me grumbling about the unemployed getting a discount. But for the grace of God it could have been me again or you, yes you grumbling that had been laid off. I don't know about you but when money is tight in those times the temptation to cut corners and not bother with insurance is strong, so fair play to the CA for trying to help folk out. DRTaylor 0
Hi all, I think there has been a bit of confusion over this issue. I've just been asked by the membership department to post the following: The Countryside Alliance are currently offering half price membership to new members for the first year only. This membership offer does include our superb country pursuits insurance with £10m public liability and much more. Although we don't offer a specific category for unemployed, we do have an Under 25 membership for half price at £9 and a Gamekeepers category at half price for £16. For more information on our superb membership and insurance offers please visit countryside-alliance.org.uk or call us on 020 7840 9300. If you have any questions, either call the number above or let me know. All the best, David Quote Link to post
