deanflute 550
My bitch was sired by a Hancock lurcher, She does enough for me but I'm very sure there will be different views on the Hancock stuff Quote Link to post
iceman001979 1,316
Look l have always had a bad word to say about the hancock lucher because its breed out off non working stuff but end off the day anything put over greyhound is a lucher because there all mutts at the end off the day. Some off us can have the best of the best and some can just be happy with what they have no matter where it came from or who breed it as long as the dog is fit and well and makes you have who cares what others think. Hancock is called a puppy dealer by most am one off they he doe not care where or who buys them as long as he gets £200 a pup but at the end off the day there must be a market for them or he been out business ages ago Quote Link to post
DogMagic 461
I see this as 2 different subjects. 1 = hancock and 2 collie x greyhound. Personally i dont like handcock at all. He is a puppy peddler with no interest whatsoever in the dogs welfare, just his 200 sovs. Also personally i love a collie x greyhound. Mine is a brilliant dog, lovely temperement, fast learner, fast runner, turns well, strikes well, makes some amazing catches, i honestly cant fault him. And funnily enough both his parents came from hancock. One side is a border collie x grey, the other side is a beardie collie x grey. Both owned by different people local to me and i can vouch for both parents as being good dogs. Which means that handcock has managed to breed at least 2 good workers. I still wouldnt touch HIM with a barge pole though. Quote Link to post
Lepus 12
I have had three Hancock lurchers all 1/2 cross boarder collie/greyhound all have been very good dogs it all about what you put in to a dog Quote Link to post
whin 463
saw several hanckock one or two decent ones the rest were rubbish not a breeder of good workig lurchers just a dog breeder the way i look at it if you breed a litter and they all catch whats on offer daylite nite time [bANNED TEXT] a working lurcher breeder you breed the odd litter etc then good but mass production of non tried workers the guys who by them are the guinea pigs for him , Quote Link to post

However, My bitch is from his stuff and she does a job for me for what she's been tried on Quote Link to post

ATB Jambay spot on, ive got a 1x collie grey (not) hancock, he is a good rabbit+bird dog day+night. But to be honest when you put a collie to greyhound, where ever it comes from.? You really never know how it will turn out( to much brain=collie. no wind=greyhound, etc..... And i dont think really you need alot of collie in the mix, a 1/4 is still a strong gene A colliexgrey to another x (salukixgrey or deerhoundxgrey) would be better type of alrounder lurcher on all quarry Bryn Quote Link to post
