hi all im thinking bout putting a gas ram in my bsa lightnig xl is it any good or should i jus buy a v-mach spring

Gas ram.

It will transform the gun. Theoben had some left last time I called them but I cannot remember what cal they were.

There are "issues" with fitting the different calibre gas ram.

.22 gas ram in a .177 is ok, will drop your power level a bit, but it'll be legal.

 

.177 in a .22 will take you well over the legal limit!

 

Definitely go for it, makes for a completely different gun!

Im in same situation but as I think springs gone but I already have a gas rammed one.

While different it is not better except maitnence free and I can leave it cocked for ages,other wise it shakes your fillings out.I though it was due to the lightning not originaly being made to be a gas ram but all theobens are like it to,they destroy scopes and kick hard.

Think il be going for a spring tune but not paying vmachs prices when theres other people who suply him around that charge cheaper.

I think I'l buy a standard spring,get the plastic bits made and head over to that american who supplies the seals and heavy tar to vmach.

I recon I could half the price.

I know the man has to make a living but 100 for a spring,supposedly perfect spring guides(which could never be unless he had and measured your gun)some rubber and and a tiny bit of moly grease in my books taking the pee.

Lets hope he dont go out of business like his father did.
