just looked at my ferret when i was feeding her an i noticed a big tick on her back, what is the best way to bet it of as i was told not to just pull it cause the tick dont fully come of, thanks in advance for any advice

you can bye a tool specially designed for removing them safely

frontline spray mate its very good or surgical spirit put on with a pipet and dont rub it in just a few drops on to the tick should drop off after a day or so cheers DM

if you got vaseline put that over the tick it will suffacate it,or buy one of them tools like a fork you can get them from petsmart and ebay there green

Yeah a tick remover is best. The sprays don't really do a lot. I went to the vets, spent a massive amount of money and it didn't kill any, had to remove them all by hand anyway.

My ferrets get them from time to time. I've tried vaseline and sprays but find the tick removel tools work best. Slip it over the tick, twist anti-clockwise and remember to kill the tick. This method can be difficult with a ferret that hasn't had a lot of handling.
