MR TEA POT 1,287
Well had BODGERBEAR(ROB) and REDEYE JEDI(porkpie) over for a mornings ferreting, the wind was blowing like mad,so we got to the first set and tried to set the nets, the wind was blowing crap all into the nets twigs and stuff which made the job a pain in the ass.So nets down and ferrets in,1 rabbit bolted after 5 mins abit of a wait and then 2 rabbirs bolted at once,by the this time the wind was getting stronger,no rabbits or ferrets had shown for about half n hour so out came the locators,PORKPIE got a mark at 1 foot and was happy till he started digging and realised my ground is made up of clay and flint .So after a lot of swearing he broke through to the ferret and rabbit.I then got a mark at 6inches and soon broke through .ROBS jill had not been seen for a while so we got the finders out and found her under a load of logs so we left her a bit longer and sure enough the rabbit bolted and was netted. We did one more sett with nothing at home then decided to pack in. A few pics. First warren of the day.The nets you cannot fail to see are ROBS he was trying them out unfortunetly no rabbits bolted in to them The lads waiting for a bolt. Which soon came, here is ROB jumping into action The dig that PORKPIE was doing a lot of swearing hat Pulling the rabbit out. END OF DAY SHOT. Not many rabbits but a good morning was had by all, thanks again lads Quote Link to post

Guest bodgerbear
Enjoyed that days ferreting. Was a good start with Mr Teapots Polar bears and Porkpies Tank of a hob . Bloody windy though. Learnt a very valuble lesson, running after a rabbit thats popped out of an unnetted hole calling it all the names under the sun does work it ran back down one hole straight out into a hole that was netted = result. As always a good crack was had by all. Cheers lads catch up with you all soon ATB Rob Quote Link to post
max abell 196
strong wind can be a real pain in the a*se when ferreting we find the rabbits very reluctant to bolt maybe due to human scent blowing down the holes at least you got a few well done mate Quote Link to post
