skycat 6,173
Duckwing, those birds are sensational: are the white ones goldie mules? But what are they muled with? Dimorphic canaries? (I'm no expert, only keep a few mongrel canaries, but these hybrids reallly fascinate me) And there is the one on its own that almost looks like a white and speckled robin! Is it? Ossie 11
the village i grew up in is a veritable magnet for odd wildlife. plenty of pied blackbirds, and the elusive giant brown & white rabbits. the rabbits were kinda my fault... me & dad used to cross french lops with new zealands to produce monster meat rabbits to put in the local auction. we had a fair few escapees back in the days before we had our feral cat population, and i'm guessing a few must have survived & bred with the wild population. one of my friends in the village had her mum up to visit, the poor woman thought she'd lost it when the first 2 wild things she saw were a pied blackbird & a giant brown & white rabbit!
