kez 0
hi everyone,i'm new to this site so still tring to find my way around it.my question and the reason for joining this site is:i have a german shepherd dog (bitch) and we're getting tried of the same old "i'll throw the ball, you fetch".i'm looking for some sort of coursing/luring type game i can play with her.i'm in manchester and can't seem to find anywhere that would entertain a g/s/d.most places seem to be for greyhounds etc.can anybody give us some advice on wheres the nearest place and how often we can go to this place to just run the dog.thanks
jinnyfizz 5
Have you thought about trying agility with her. They're intelligent dogs and pick it up quickly. If you want to let her have a go at lure coursing, what about starting her off at Lurcher World events doing Chase The Bunny? Any breed of dog can have a go and if she takes to it then there are various lurcher events all over the country where they do "fun running" for all breeds after the lurchers and other sighthounds have had their turn http://www.lurcherworld.info/index.html

littlefish 586
You could join a local dog training club and try training with a view to taking part in competitive obedience or agility? Go along and see what they have to offer.
