Water Badger 26
I purchased a BSA Ultra from Pickering air guns late last year bit of a spur of the moment purchase very impressed by the quality and appearance of the Gun, I bought the gun home purchased three different types of pellet and set about zeroing and testing the pellets, I found that the magazine did not always cycle? And the pellets did not always provide a tight group? I took this to a local gun room Kent Wool Growers (kwg) we tested the zero with and without a silencer and then simply hand loading the pellets. Hand loading the pellets worked fine a good group was achieved however with the mag back in the group dispersed Our conclusion is that the chamber for the magazine is too large and when you tap the magazine to encourage cycling it cycles but when the pellet locater is pushed forward a section is shaved off the pellet?? Water Badger 26
Phone this number mate and speak to a man called Simon Howarth. He will sort the problem for you or tell you how to do it yourself Si. tel 07792073470 Thanks for that I have sent the gun back to BSA I believe the magazine housing is too big for the mag!! if its not sorted or I am not happy I will contact simon. If you buy a gun and spend that sort of money i would expect good grouping from bench resting! Quote Link to post
zini 1,939
True mate I totally agree with you buddy. Simon Howarth (Tench) as he is known is the God when it comes to tuning and fixing BSA rifles buddy, he really is. He has done both my r10 and my Ultra and if I was to say that they shoot very very well it would be a under statement buddy. Si Quote Link to post

mikeyblue 28
Im another satisfied customer of Simon He made a good rifle into a great one in the form of my R10. I rang him at about 11.00am and asked if he could fit me in that day. He told me he was busy but come down anyway and will fit me in! Go there at 1pm and he set to work straight away. He stripped it totally and machined and lathed bits so they all sat perfectly. Also fettled my regulater to 90bar. I know have a much smoother firing cyle with greater locktime, and more shots per fill to boot. All for a very small sum of money. Cant reccomend him enough! Hey Si, we were talking about your distance shooting with Tony and LJ, he says he wants that Ultra back Mikey. P.s I should see him tomorrow at a comp so will pick his brains about your problem WB.
