Has it been out when your other dogs have caught and killed one most times they just need to know there aloud to do it, my first Lurcher was the same would run it but half hearted, he was a bit unsure then i took him out with my mates dog and watched one being killed and he had a go on it then there was no going back, turned out to be an all right fox dog

ive stood a fox with a little life left in it in front of him and he just yapped while the other dogs were ragging it

I'd agree I would leave him a little longer but I would keep letting him watch the older dogs at there jobs on the fox and sooner or later the penny should drop

At the end of the day. If it wants to it will if it dont it wont. You cant make it do the job you want. And if that is what you want it for then sell it to some one who wants a dog for rabbits. And buy a purpose bred dog.
