beddlington/greyhound 50
Hi, was out on usual evening walk yesterday my dog bumped into a fox. unfortunatly my dog suffered a bite to her front leg. on return journey she was limping a little but still putting a bit of weight on it. when i got home a washed it off with antiseptic wash and noticed two teeth marks.went to the kennel this morning and noticed she is not putting any weight on it and it was swollen around the knee joint area which now she is in a bit of pain as she is yelping when touched or knocks it.the bite marks dont look too big and didnt bleed. is it a trip to the vet so they can turn round give me some anti inflammatory tablets and rip me off. anyone had this problem? any advice please? Thanks justin Edited January 15, 2011 by beddlington/greyhound

Thanks justin It sounds like the bite is infected and your dog may need a course of antibiotics..... I think a trip to the vets is the best bet though.
moonlighter 1,164
most flesh wounds will heal on there own if kept clean with salt water, but sometimes when they get bit on the leg they can get an infection in the bone which can be serious and needs antibiotics.
