harrycatcat 31
Well I feel terrible and have done for a day or so my nose is running like a tap. coughing like an old horse, sore throat and my bones ache but I made my mind up that nothing was going to stop me going, anyway I have not been able to sleep properly because of the above so I might as well get out of bed and do something constructive. I got there at 06.10 after a two hour drive and was in position for 06.30 I went in my usual spot not too far from the sea wall as I am going to use yesterday as my second warden day, but I did not see anyone. It was nearly tropical at 11 degrees and it was good to get out, I have to admit it was very quiet but heard mallard in the distance. After it became light I had a walk over to a steel bridge to eye up for a position next time, then came back onto the sea wall and went along to the first bend and past to where the wall goes at right angles. I saw two shooters walking on the other side of the river through my binoculars but I did not hear any shots so if you were one of the two let me know. All in all I enjoyed it and if the tide is the same next time I will go to the end of the thorn bushes and get over the small creek like when I got cut off. Did i shoot anything - No Did i enjoy it - YES

As it says I was not far from the sea wall where the gate/entrance to the marsh is and it is possible to hear anyone going through it as it has a big CLICK when anyone goes through it and also I would have seen them on the sea wall. Also there were no other cars in the vicinity. It is my understanding that you do not have to stand at the gate like a bus conductor from two hours before dawn till two after. Perhaps I am wrong is that what you do??
