StevoSmith 147 Posted January 14, 2011 Report Share Posted January 14, 2011 Ive heard of people using wirewool but dont because it scratches the blueing......i would use wd40 and cloth or a little clenzoil leave to soak and wipe with cloth.......there are lots of products at gunsmiths for this prob though Quote Link to post
matt_hooks 188 Posted January 14, 2011 Report Share Posted January 14, 2011 Scrunch up a bit of aluminium foil and gently rub the rust spots. The rust is softer than the aluminium, but the barrel steel and bluing isn't, so it takes the rust off but doesn't damage the good metal. Then when it's nice and clean, take it round to the person who borrowed it and beat them repeatedly around the head with it for letting a finely tuned piece of kit go rusty! (Ok, don't actually do that, though I'd definitely be having words!) Quote Link to post
