Roebuck Rod 6
Yes they can, 28 yrs ago, I had 2 lurchers, bitch was saluki grey with little bit of deerhound collie back in the lines, she was racey looking. My dog was 3 quarter grey quarter saluki. they would take daytime hares, lamp deer and rabbits. Never took fox, but i know they would of. The dog I got now is daytime hare dog, but i like lamping, so ive just taught him the lamp. No probs. He will take anything, not sure if he would take a fox. not my game. cracking looking dog hows he bred ?? He is sniper on sires side and out of good bitch from merle and eve lines, so im told. But to me it dont matter as my black dog years kicked ass wherever he went, he never had good lines. He was just a born hunter. Quote Link to post

baldockbanks courser 598
whats the point of using a purpous breed fen coursing dog as an all rounder? buy a dog breed to be an all rounder ( s,gx b,g eg) thell be cheaper priced sharper and harder. More often than not they wont like being bit, try boxing up and coursing rather than catching lamped rabbits and be a bit steady to take d. Mind you they should kill day time hares stranglie what theve been breed for! iv got two coursing breed bitches on at the mo I breed for coursing but i didnt think there size was big enougth so I work one with ferrets and lamp both run the lamp regular and take good numbers of rabbit and hare. theve got no intrest in f and couldnt see them worrying a fallow. But then as others have said a true all rounders like hens teath. Quote Link to post
