Ideation 8,216
Is it not illegal in large parts of Oz? Quote Link to post
theferreter 311
think it is illegal in some parts mate not all the judge rabbit sets would be occupied with snakes and lizards espically during the day when they need to get out of the direct sun wouldent fancy my ferrets chances if it comes face to face with a king brown or a monitor Quote Link to post
royal marine 0
just go pig hunting mate, theres plenty of it going on out there Quote Link to post
TOMO 26,215
i have been ferreting in oz , in new south wales, 2 hours south of sydney. i have just herd of this site, that owning a ferret in queensland has been made ilegal. but its the more southern areas of oz that have the rabbits, victoria, south australia , NSW. im pretty shure that monitor lizards are in the more northen states,, theres stil snakes of course Quote Link to post
Coneytrappr 30
I believe that keeping ferrets is illegal in two states, the rest are fair game. Snakes would be a risk in the summer months but with temperatures getting up to 40 degrees at that time of year who would want to go ferreting anyway. Winter would be the go. Quote Link to post

landl10 0
this is my post from 2 week ago im in vic Hi, Yesterday I took the dogs and ferrets out to give the dogs a quick chase, found a 4 holer, put 1 ferret down dogs chased 2 rabbits and then I heard some noises and the ferret came out backwards dragging out a 4 ft brown snake...So I quickly got the dogs on the leads and then stood back and waited. The ferret then started fighting with the snake, I was shocked that the ferret didn't get bitten and after a few minutes the snake went back down the hole. One luck ferret...and silly me for taking him out in the summer... Quote Link to post

stevethefish 80
Australia – It is illegal to keep ferrets as pets in Queensland or the Northern Territory; in the ACT a licence is required. Quote Link to post
