There are a few Norfolk type lurchers about my locality. The original dog was brought in some years ago and I am told came from mick Douglas. I seen a son grandson and grandaughter of this dog work a few times and they were decent lurchers sometimes over shadowed by the mass of bull cross in my area. A lad I know has a one of the grandaughters she is now around six and has had two litters one to Burrels Dis and one to a wheten collie cross dog of which he has a dog pup of six months. There is a bitch from the first litter currently nursing pups sired by a deerhound greyhound dog. My current hunting partner used the orignal dog to comeinto our local area many years ago and he produced some good pups when mated to a greyhound bitch but not so good bred to a lurcher bitch. The best I have seen was out of the original dog to a greyhound bitch two of my former hunting assocaites owned this dog one from a pup and one from around two. I seen this dog do all the jobs i would want and he was mated to a greyhound bitch and produced an almost carbon copy of himself even though he was 7/8 greyhound, I slipped this dog on his second fox out of cover and he took care of business and was a smart dog. The other bitch I have hunted with was also a decent lurcher out of the same 3/4 Grey 1/4 Norfolk dog put to a cross bred lurcher bitch of deerhound and bull collie breeding. She was able to take a hare single handed at six year old and worked fox and other bits and pieces. I had remarked to my friend that if it were up to me I would mate the bitch one final time to her half brother to try and get a line back to the original dog but unfortunately my friend and former hunting associate do not speak due to a petty squabble. My friend has a dog pup so he may able in a few years to put it to his half sister or even but a grandson over his own bitch. I am cynical about the norflok being a true cross but there is evidence of a strong bloodline when 7/8 crosses are comeing out with a full rough coat and other norfolk type features.

Tumbler is a name for the old smithfield type lurcher of the black and tan type, been crossed out over the years to good sight hounds of the coursing type.

any one can call a litter tumbler bred if they got thick wire jacket and are of norfolk type lurcher stamp.

that goes for any old time breed, proving what they off is the main thing.

like the black and tan that threw in the last litter

a right motley crew lol.realy like them.is that your one with its mouth open

the black and tan may be passed from the manchester terrier that jeff bred into them

i put my old bitch down last year she was a "tumbler" age 12 she was never bred from because plain and simple was only average at the best of times
