nearly a drowned terrier

was out yesterday with my terrier ratting and when a rat ran across the slurry pitt my patt x lakey thought he could do the same.Well my mate screamed at me whilst i was smoking the rats out,i turned to see my little boy dissapearing under the slurry (its about 10 foot deep). i droppeed the smoker and ran to the edge i just about got hold of his lip and drew him towards my as he,s struggling to stay afloat,i grabbed his scruff and yanked him free called him a silly monkey(in so many words) and got him back on hard standing.

i thought it was a dead dog for a minute but thanks to the shout from my mate he,s alive and well. we even got a few rats!!!!

its funny how im alway saying "its only a dog" but when things like this happen it makes you realise how much you care for the little blighters!!!!!!

i had the same problem but my terrier has done it twice now thought it would learn the first time.its horrible when you see them trying to keep up and your trying to get them out without falling in yourself.she stunk for days after loads of baths

been there myself mate and your right it scares the shit out of you, exactly the same circumstances, dog seen rat and dived in, worst thing was, it was my lasses pup, just took it for a look
