North Country Boy 0
Ive seen a few different holidays recently that i thought would be major, herding sheep in italy was one, camping out along the way with meals brought to you on route. The other was driving cattle through arizona on horseback, city slickers style. Why not try a working holiday on a farm or hiring a camper and travelling like previous posts, for the price of a packaged holiday you could rent a camper and do 3 weeks round europe, be great for the kids. davyt63 1,845
hi buddy if you have enough cash ,take the kids to Orlando,if you haven't already. they will love it,plenty of water parks, plenty to see and do.visit Everglades,Gator world,Disneyland, hundreds of hunting shops "well malls". I mean massive every thing from a size 8 hook to a fishing boat. plenty of shooting ranges.where you can try any gun you like! I tested the Magnum .44 (dirty harry)pistol/canon lol,and my 14yr old son tested the 9mm glock plenty of shops for the misses, plenty of places to eat! and loads for the parents too! would recommend you go for 3 weeks if your doing the parks, and hire a car! good luck with your choice, and sorry to here about your job! regards Davy
WILF 46,851
If it was me P, I would do the deep south.....Horses, hunting, and old fashioned attitude to the world (so it would seem)....I would love to take the family and spent some time just touring around there. higgins 75
i'd like to offer suggestions of places to go,but i think the first thing you should do is discuss this with your family and find out what they would like to do,possibly that might solve the problem for you. It's important to include everybody and all plan for the same trip, just add the highlights each member needs on the trip, sorry your losing your job and hope your holiday is one to remember, make it the best one, atb, Higgins

TOMO 26,193
As Tomo said Oz and NZ but via Thailand ie, Elephant Trekking and Rafting along and down the River Kwai, stay on the floating bungalows moored to the river bank visit the War cemetry, the Bridge ect Phuket and Phi Phi Island Is Beautiful visit Hua Hin and Krabi again amazing on the way down to Phuket. Or head north to Chaing Mai-Chaing Rai and visit the long neck tribes-golden triangle ect staying in the jungle a few nights with them . If the mrs and kids are up for a bit of adventure it can all be done on a buget ie, buses trains. Visit the Tiger Zoo,s get their pics took with adult and young Tigers. Crocodile shows ect, Temples, Wat's, beaches, mountains, forests, jungle. Stay away from Hong Kong very expensive even for a few nights. Look up Emirates.com or Eva Airways .com. ie, Manchester-dubai-bangkok-perth-auckland or heathrow-bangkok-perth-auckland. Whatever you do choose go for it and enjoy, the family will never forget it. i thought hong kong was cheap,,well it was 4 year ago when we went,,,, mind you your just putting it on par with thailand which is supoosed to be very cheap...... or you just dont like getting your hands to deep in those pockets must say though we both want to go there so that might be a stop over in the future. Moll. 1,770
I take mine home to Canada ... fly to the East Coast and spend a couple of weeks driving right across the country. I'd time it to see some sights like the Calgary stampede in Alberta. Drive over the Rockies, go camping, fishing, whale watching etc. Ahhh, so up to your elbows in unmentionables, ankle deep mud, ewes with a right hook Tyson would be proud of, and......chocolate cake for breakfast is not good enough then
