i havent seen any working kerry blues, might make a decent ratter?

my theory is they had a patterdale x kerry blue before and it took after the patterdale as regards working ability?

id say theyd want to be about 120 years old,i think the popularity of the kerry blue led to its demise as a worker if it ever was one.My grandfather (dead a good while) told me his best earth dog when he was young was a kerry blue x beagle. They were a guard dog of legendary viciousness allright.

I had a Kerry blue about ten years ago, kc reg, bought it for the missus. I used to take it out with my own terriers and he was keen after rats/rabbits, loved water but his coat was bad, too soft and he kept getting canker, vet said it was the fact too much hair growing in his ear canal and it being narrow, so every two/three months he was infected with it. In the end we had to put him down, too protective a guard dog couldn't be trusted with even people we new well.
