i heard some people use electolites their was a tread a few weeks a go ,type it the search,i heard that tinned tomatoes are a natural elecrolites

if its going to be a hard night (lot of runs) then give electolite in his water when i get back. Most times just quick look over, then belly full of good grub(1 lb raw mince chicken+dry meal)and leve the heat lamp on for him.It does seem to work with the heat, as he not to stiff next morning

Always check dogs over for cuts/punctures,feet checked, clean off with warm water, smallish amount of grub, fresh water with electrolytes, and heat lamp.

I had a bitch of mine finnish a nights lamping a few years ago, when checked over, felt something on her flank, looked with lamp to find a 3" blackthorn thorn pierced straight through the skin, had to carefully remove it cleaned it and she was fine! Just goes to show the injuries a running dog can pick up in the course of a night. Always check your dogs thouroughly  .

If dog has really had a hard day/night then you can't beat a nice hot bath: for the dog! Only recommended if you can be sure to dry the dog thoroughly afterwards, put a coat on it or put it under a heat lamp if it lives in kennels.

Electrolyte never hurts either: always give my dogs Recharge after a hard day/night. I don't feed food with bones in it if the dog is really tired as it takes more energy to digest bone than just meat. Feed meat and fat, or if feeding dry, soak in hot water/gravy. Warm food is more easily digested than cold. Don't feed full meal straight after work either: feed half, then the other half next morning, or evening: 8 hours later when dog has rested.

Edited to add: if you have a Portamag then soon as dog is clean put in Portamag for 25 minutes on setting 6
