whippet x kelphie

Recommended Posts

i have a little Kelpie x grew about 21 months and 23 at the shoulder. i use her mainly for ferreting and i cant fault her work for a young dog . She is a bit sharp with other dogs and not the easiest dog ive ever owned. Very very focused and sharp and for a first x she is quick.

just tell your mate to have loads of patience and watch his temper as they dont forget mistakes easily

Watchman

I have tried contacting the lad who bred her a few times but he never got back to me so i stopped trying. The dam was a smashing dog and he had obviously looked after the litter well and thought a lot of his dogs so fair dos

There was a red dog pup i would have been interested in seeing how he turned out much chunkier than mags and a good bit taller.

The litter was bred to work the lad just never bothered with the dew claws and unless she catches them in the future i wont bother removing them. Im only a weekend hunter and even then its mainly ferreting so i cant see them being a big problem. thanks for the comments

Border lad

you couldnt be more right about her mooching ability she has a great nose and takes birds easily, i am going to get her out beating on the moors next season just to see how she goes as there are afair few rabbits up there and the keepers arent bothered if you lift a couple during the drive. the big saluki x in the picture above is a really good dog he caught a woodcock and a pheasent last sunday and for a long dog he can use his nose well.
