stroller 341
I have had great offers of help from various people willing to give up their time and use their equipment and travel to find my old ferret. Sometimes when i listen to the bitching that goes on i feel like giving up on this web site but i am proud and heartened that there are genuine people out there who care about the humble ferret that much mistreated animal. every effort is being made to get her back i am away to have a look and the landowner was up with a torch last night and nothing has dug out i will try putting the big hob back in and trench what i can its under a load of blackthorn so it isnt easy but i have to give it a go. Thanks again Keith Quote Link to post

stroller 341
Ive been up this morning, had a look about but no sign yet, met the landowner and his missus up there and they will keep an eye out, if she gets out (If she is still there) she will probably run up to them. unfortunately they didnt get anymore snow last night as i wqas hoping to find some tracks around the stables and feed sheds. Im not convinced she is in the warren but its all speculation. Quote Link to post

Years ago we went back mid-week after loosing one at the weekend; three days later she was still down there. This was the time before locaters, so we jumped up and down and made loads of noise on the burry and she came out after 15 mins! Quote Link to post
caterpiller 10
What i cant understand is Matt was going to come up with one of his big Hobs and put him in to locate your Bitch.....the Hob would of found your Jill laid up with her catch straight away.......cant understand why you never took him up on the very kind offer yet you go on about TRENCHING to the Ferret......NO F*CKING need to when another Ferret fitted with a Locator will find it for you......it would of only been a formality to switch the box on,Locate and drop a hole. People were prepared to go out of there way to help you out yet......your Ferret is still to ground when she could be at home safe and sound Quote Link to post

stroller 341
woah caterpillar steady on. I took my big hob with me today if she was down there he would have chased her out. like ive said im convinced she isnt there and a collared up ferret would have done nothing differently than my ferret he would just ignore the dead rabbit and work on he wouldnt have stuck with an old dead rabbit . i also tried the big lad in the sets close by all of which were empty. ive used him like this before and its always worked. I didnt want that lad coming all the way from cleveland taking up his time and money travelling over 110 miles to my permission and home for it to blank. Im pretty sure she will turn up like ive said my mate is keeping an eye out for her the holes are filled and i will check tomorrow again. But ive convinced myself she is out and underneath the stables or feed sheds. It was very kind of Matt to offer but i will sort it if it can be sorted. i had a phone call from my mate offering to come down from Durham if i need collars etc but the deed is done and it wouldnt make any difference if she is behind a dead rabbit she will have to eat her way out. Matt would of travelled a thousand miles to help you out....no ifs or buts about it.....he's a genuine lad. Matt had left his gear in his van(in for repair) so he rang me late on last night to borrow my gear. On my way out to work this morning i left a Box and Collar and also a next to new Box(15ft) for Matt to GIVE to you. Yes.....the other Ferret may not of stayed with a dead Rabbit BUT.....he would of lingered enough in one spot for you to get a mark with the locator.....you had nothing to loose by dropping a hole. Anyway.........hopefully......you will get her back safe and sound Quote Link to post
