TGEvans 4
Got an Energiser headtorch in my stocking for Christmas. Wore it slightly off centre last night with the air rifle and it worked on some rabbits under the 30 yard mark. Anybody else out there tried it? I was quite impressed! Quote Link to post
TheMaskedBrit 0
Not for shooting mate, but use one for night fishing and for the price under a tenner it takes some beating. A good tight focused beam, use the one with 3 white LEDs. Quote Link to post
rossi_j 99
I have tryed it but found it hard as the light seems to spread around and make it hard to see through the scope, but if you have a technique that works for you then thats good, some of the old school blokes (john darling included I think) used motorbike headlights on there head with bike batterys in there pockets, so if its working mate stick with it:) Guess its all down to personal technique. Would this happen to be the headlight with a red setting aswel? If so how bright is it in red? Just curious as I dont like turning my white headlight on to re-load mag. .atb. .ste. Quote Link to post

ghillies 209
I use a led lenser, cree led one (looks like a little yellow square on a circuit bord, not a bulb) head torch, well worth the monry. zooms in and out and has a dimmer switch, i use it on very low for getting about bur more often than not i end up shooting with it to the 40-50 yard mark no problems...(can use up to -100 whatever), and yup always ends up slightly of center on my head as i get bored the others shooting everything lol.(or no need to switch the 200 luminum one on the scope). keep your eye on ebay for CREE tirch's, a few pages later you'll find them, but for the price (10-15 avareage on low price cycle) theyre well worth it. same for the '8' ring scope/barrel mounts...couple quid odd. surefire, fenix, spitfire theres loads of names but theyre all protty much the same, just watch out for the multi one click ones, 1 click on lowest two clicks on the next..theyre ok as torchs but four clicks throw gets on yu tits...some you twist the head for each setting, others are one setting. 100 luminums youll get some where around hundred yards..200 youl get 200 yards there about.(unfiltered). TGEvans 4
The one I have had was around the fifteen pounds mark. Four settings, last one being the red setting. Its good for getting about and seeing well enough up to about 10 feet, its good in a way because it does not spook anything. It takes three batteries. My mate is a surveyor and he uses his on his night shifts when working on the beaches and he swears by his, battery life promises to be good too. Its obviously not as bright as a proper lamping setup but it gets them interested long enough to getthe shot off. Quote Link to post
