off to buy a new spade/shovel what ever you want to call it.. just wondered what you used seen as i've snapped a few aleready, my pal says to get a bulldog make he's had his for 4yrs... probably been done a trillion times but hey

mini pointed builders spade, what they use for digging when under pinning £9.95 from jewson builders merchant had no problem with it.

use one with a fibreglass shaft,tough as anything and about a tenner,a mate had a metal shafted grafter which was cut shorter and welded that was probably the best i've ever used,you've broke a few?you must give them some abuse!!

yeah it doesn't help when your mate borrows you his old garden spade and i am a bit heavy handed like

Depends where we are going as weve 4 types from a ladies garden spade up to a wide mouth bulldog type . As long as there sharp thats a start

Go for a buldog spade i've had mine for six years the handle needed replacing three times and the head four times still as good as new.

Well mine is 15 years old it is a post digging spade with a 4 feet of steam pipe in it 6 feet lond very sharp cuts in deep ground two to three feet makes small holes as wide as the rabbit run and is heavy good for cutting ps as wellas this is good to fix fencing posts

im known for snapping spades but havnt snapped the one using now its full metal shovel cut in to a bull nose , will try post a pic
