Baldcock don't take it so seriously this is an internet forum as I see it it is a place to spend time on when I'm bored or can't get out and to be fair some of the funniest things I have ever read or seen have been on this site we should welcome all it is the content of the forum and number of members that keep it alive and if you don't believe that just visit some of the other lurcher forums and revel in their 3 posts a day

This site is for ANYONE who has an interest whatever it may be and so it should be.There are sections on clay shooting the new addition Crafts to name a few i dont do any stick making and not a great deal of clay shooting

but i stil go in to look as i have a INTEREST.

The more people who visit this site who do not hunt but INTERESTED, has to be a BONUS as it could be one more to support the huntinglife...

One over-riding factor I see quite regular on this forum is peeps asking "my dog is doing this,what can I do!" the answer that comes back more often than not is FFS why didn't you do a little research first!

Now if this site didn't allow non-lurcher people on how would some be able to do that research first........we all get tired and fed up of lame,silly or pathetic questions but thats the nature of a forum.

And how would we moderate "who's" a true lurcher person......as we all know "keyboard hunters" are good at talking the talk even when they can't walk it!

I'm new to all this but have a passion for running dogs. I am here to learn as much as i can before getting a dog. I have recieved helpful advice and offers of mentoring which i am very grateful for, even if some numpties feel the need to make sarky comments towards someone wanting to get started.

Not everyone is lucky enough to live in the correct place and be born with the skills required so we have to learn somewhere, passsing on ones knowledge and experience is what creates the hunters of tomorrow and keep hunting life going.

Yeah, I see yer point, dogooders who think dogs should have a seat at the family table, sleep on yer pillow while you cramp up at the foot of the bed and otherwise rule the roost can be a pain. But these people are just dog ignorant types. It hasn't clicked that a dog is a carnovorous hunting machine (no matter what breed it is). These are the people who think that by calling a dog ''Shnookums'' will make it a 9 month old human baby. These are the same people who end up returning their dogs to the rescue home when it bites them or their kids and then they blame the previous owner.

I see yer poit though, but I still reckon we should be open about everything. Education is knowledge.

I knew a Lad 43 years ago, who had a small whippet type Lurcher, that slept on his bed, was never away from the front of his fire, and was the best Hare catcher I have seen, running small to medium fields, if you had seen this bitch working a hare or rabbit, you would have wanted her,

me personal if there genuine take them out and show

them the ropes ,im not into pet this, rescue this ,im into hunting fishing like alot of others and not on the same wave lenth as people who have dogs as pure pets , if i stopped hunting tomorow dogs would be gone maybe keep one for memories but not into the pet dog thing same with ferrets they have to do a job or away to a working home ,its took me years to breed decent animals and be knowlegble,i think animals and people have to have a purpose or it goes to pot at times ,best to best was always the way forward , met some decent female hunters here and in usa good ole gals as they say ,some live for the hunt some pretend but if they vote to keep hunting or reapeal there always a place for the non hunting dreamers and pretenders and time wasters just not in my time ,computers in ahole is for a chat but the bans we have have kept alot from writing exiting TRUE stories about the great game some have been involved in ,you either into hunting or just a wannabee as long as you support it what the f**k if there females men etc

i occasionally look at the terrier and hound section,but shooting is just boring to me :lazy: plus most the people i meet who shoot are up their own arse toffs with names like Montgomery,Harold and Charles.
