a bit concerned

Recommended Posts

I was out mooching with the Pats the other day (dog and bitch)and they had just bolted 4 Roe deer out of some thick cover they chased them for a while and then returned to me all fired up,anyhow the dog is not very friendly with other dogs and as I came up over a bank a JRT came running straight towards him he was instantly into it,I grabbed hold of him and we all slipped down the bank in the snow and ice,as I slipped down a branch off a tree hit me in the boll**ks going through me jeans and as I kept sliding down the bank ripped the leg off my jeans :laugh::laugh: so I lost hold of the dog the JRT was fighting with my Pat but the russel was squealing then it broke free and run off down a track with my dog chasing it I could hear them still at it further down the track buy the time I had recovered and picked myself up it was all quite I ran down the track towards the dogs to find the JRT layed still on the floor with my dog trying to eat it :no::no: I got him off it and the russel recovered and seemed to be ok,there was a guy with the russel I apologised a 100 time to him and he wasn't to stressed about it but I was a bit concerned that my dog would do this :o:o:o

Is he the best dog you have? because if he is not then at best you could end up with a big vets bill if he rips into a dog again or worse he may kill a dog that in temperament and work is a superior animal.

In my personal experience I find fighters are usually cowards in ther work a dog that fights is my pet hate and I will not tolerate it.

Don't get me wrong they will all have a squabble now and again usually in the summer but somthing that continually wants to fight is no use to me but each to ther own only you can decide if to keep the dog or not.

Best of luck

Wise words. And people who keep working dogs which run out of control shouldn't keep them IMO. It's the sort of thing which gives lurcher and terrier people a bad reputation.
