personally i think you'd get even more idiots owning them and have a hell of alot more attacks being reported in the papers. i don't think any dog should be banned in the UK, i think owners of such breeds should have to prove the can handle such a breed and their need for having one (like applying for FAC).failure to do so should carry the same custodial sentences and attacks should be classed as GBH,manslaughter and the like to stop all the idiot owners.then hopefully responsible owners can prove that in the right hands these dogs are perfectly acceptable

Not for one second. Why would all the people who have staffies as family pets suddenly feel the urge to 'upgrade' to a pitbull? For every dick owning a staffie for it's looks, there are probably 50 or more responsible staffie owners with genuine enthusiasm for the breed.

I can't see anyone breeding for any sort of performance in staffords if you can just get an apbt which will be far better than anything you could produce in your life time(by breeding staffords) .

What would an APBT offer a pet staff owner over what he's already got? It's not as if the Staff as a breed is riddled with genetic defects & faults like some other breeds are..

I wouldnt say he was responsible that would be unfair....but folk like him was the root cause of the dda....people who churn out litter after litter of dogs to sell to anybody with the correct money......oh but he put on athletic dog shows so that makes him " a good ol boy "

Fair do,s the man bred some exceptional animals.....but then the law of averages says anyone producing that amount of pups is going to produce some good ones.....

I liked old Ed he was a nice fella....but it dont make what he did right......nor the others who did the same and paved the way for the pakies and general idiots who became the next generation of peddlars.
