Newbie, Feeding chicken

Hi,

Was just wondering when you feed chicken to your ferrets do you just chuck it whole in or do you cut it up?

 

And i just want to make sure that bone is ok?

 

And can i feed chicken brought from a shop like asda whole chicken ect?

Raw chicken is a great food mate. No need to cut it up apart from working out how much you need to put if for them...their teeth will do the job. Raw chicken bones are fine and will keep their teeth healthy.

 

Cooked bones on the other hand are an absolute nightmare. They are prone to splintering and can cause all types of trouble...only ever feed raw chicken bones.

I grow chickens for asda and chicken is the bulk of thier diet as it in abundance how ever i always feed young ferrets on rabbit at least once a week I feel it helps thier prey drive I dinn't do this a couple of years ago and i ended up culling more off than i kept.

i feed them on other dead ferrets once a month to keep them phsyco!!

Id feed them raw as the chicken if bought from shops will only be weeks old and it wont be old hard bones ,Saying that the last lot of chicken i got 500kilos after we split it i had 100 kilos left we minced it at BoBo's and put it in bags at 2LB a time for easier storage in the freezers

Chicken legs are fine,right amount of meet and a bone to chew on. In summer months though dont put too much raw meet in their due to the flies getting at it.

Hi mate, i buy the packs of chicken wings from Asda for mine thy love them, plenty of flesh on them for the ferrets and thy love chewing the bones.
