gnasher16 30,591
DO YOU THINK THATS IT ,CHAMPIONSHIP I thought it would be a few years ago but Tevez saved us with miracles.....then i thought we would last year and plain luck saved us..........i guess you can only push things so far,so yes i think we,re doomed !......Our sides just not good enough for this league if im honest,no excuses......though having a cardboard box for a manager dont help none ! I reckon going down could be all part of a plan myself mate....Go down, re-structure the debts, get a nice drink to move into the olympic stadium, loose all the dead wood kick-a-balls hanging round the team and the big money/no return has beens, couple of seasons re-building, come back up and resume normal service. They would be selling Upton Park for redevelopment too, all add up to a few quid. Just a thought Edited January 6, 2011 by WILF

Just a thought The olympic stadium would be wasted on us....we could fill a 60,000 stadium against the Man Utd,s Chelsea,s Spurs etc.....and Millwall .....the rest of the time it will be half empty....40,000 is enough for % of a season.....plus there not thinking of the amount of week to week support they will lose just for leaving Upton Park...... We need to go back to the qualities that made the club what it was.....and thats strength from the inside, not cheap foreign talent......i wont mind one bit if we do go down it didnt do us no harm last time came back up to an FA cup final !.... Your probably spot on with the numbers, did they not say it will be returned to a 50,000 seater when the Olympics are over?....could be wrong. They will want someone to move in mind you, they wont want another "Dome" on their hands so I reckon they will come up with some sweetners. Clubs know that the fans will go where the club go,s......Arsenal have shown us that. Agree totally about building from the inside but a nice shiny new stadium on a new site would make the place more attractive to potential players from outside, not just the bunch of has beens we have seen the last few years. Agree with you about going down as well, you can still go and watch your football.....nothing changes there, may even be nice to see a few wins for your money. The best bit is, you get the best away fixtures P.S. They could buy Carlton Cole a new broom and tea pot so he can fulfil his new role in the team! gnasher16 30,591
The thing is Wilf Arsenal are a massive club with worldwide support,we are not.....Arsenal had a 40,000 waiting list for season tickets.....and still do !......we dont......another thing is Arsenal moved 150 yards down the road......not 3 miles away.....i know it dont sound a lot but we are a traditional old club theres a lot of people of my/our generation who will call it a day as reagrds actively following the club........and we rely on " local support " where big clubs like Arsenal dont they have fans coming from all over, same as Man Utd,Chelsea etc......shiny new ground or not its no attraction to players if they know they are going to be playing against Barnsley and Scunthorpe every week ! West Ham are not a huge company like the Arsenals and Man Utds......i think we are getting above ourself with this Olympic stadium thing.......and yes i think your right actually 50,000 if they keep the track, which i think they legally have to do. I liked the championship it was great going to some of those smaller grounds.....plus if Millwall go up which they are likely to do.......it will somewhat soften the blow .....my only worry is we wont come back up as quick as last time its still a good quality league.....anyway time will tell Edited January 6, 2011 by gnasher16
