Like i said, i apologize if it's been done before- i am using an ipod and unsure how to use the search bar, theres enough arguments on here without starting another

Mate I agree that there a usefull tool and I have a locator. but when I was kid I neva had £120 for locator so you do without. We still enjoyed ferreting and caught loads rabbits. if you cant afford

I dont usually as most of my ferreting is in gorse bush and blackthorns and they can easily tangle in the roots .

If i have a lay up hob is sent down collared up , i will say its a rare occurrence though .

Okay mate, the land im planning to ferret is mostly gorse, but not very thick, i've cut some back to get at the bolt holes too

i work 2 ferrets and they both always wear collars, and my ferreting partner will bring 1 or 2 ferrets and always puts his collar on the one he's working,so basically i always use a locator, just in case, half of the time we don't use them but if you need to pinpoint your little pal for any reason...

If you work 2 ferrets in one set does it increase lay ups?

i always use a collar but use as a last resort.people cannot help to keep checking with the locator and dig too early. if you think your ferret has killed down .check with locator and mark the spot. i use a orange tee. leave for a while then see if it is still in the same position. if you cant get it out with other methods then i dig. hopefullly this doesnt happpen too much in a season.if you have a few ferrets about you will seee they are all not the same. a had some great little bolters and 1 very fast jill who would kill all the time in smalll warrens so she was only used in big warrrens. the orange tees i used to mark the spot where i thought the ferret had killed were golf tees.
