Right after a lot of debating iv decided on buying a new locator I'm sticking with the bellman and flint collar but need a new locating box just wondering what other folk are using wouldn't mind some input from other people ie accuracy on the deeper digs

Google facewest then go through their menu to avalance trancievers. They have all the ortovox and pieps boxes.

The one your looking for is barryvox pulse, looks like shit but does the job time and time again.

Shop around to see where is cheapest. Got mine a long while ago for considerably cheaper than they are now.

just been on facewest site had a look at the barryvox pulse and watched the demo pretty much same to use as the b+f but they are supposed to be more accurate looks like thats the one for me then just another query are they set up when you get them or do you have to set them up??

oh and the price doesnt matter if it does the job better then its worth it

Im using the ortovox D3, seems pretty good so far and way better than the deben boxes.

the barryvox volume can be turn down !! news to me, there is a way of manual volume control in analog mode would not go there , the best way is to cut down a old set of standard (walkman)earphones stick it in job done

the ortovox D3 are a good box ( unsure about the pin on them ) but are slow

the b & f pin is shite, it can be up to 1 1/2 feet off and it will still show (say) 0.9

i put the b&f collor on the ground by the side of my kitchen table and had the b&f box just on the edge used the table to as a gauge and slide it slowly along in a line, take the depth when the collor is just under the box say 0.9 , but watch how far you slide it a long you go before it changes to 1.0 or o.8,

move the barryvox one inch or so it will change right away all ways bang on,

arrows on the b&f all over the place barryvox has a 360' antanna, arrows will change to pin once under 3 metre's

also the b&f will go down to o.2 with the rechargeable collor !!! the barryvox goes down to 0.0

barryvox all the way imho
