Out again yesterday

Recommended Posts

Now then boys, had a trip out yesterday to one of my permissions, mainly a shotgun over ferret job, but took the s10 along aswell, not many rabbits on this land (hence) the ferret, got tothe farm at first light and made our way across to the spinny wood where most of the warrens are, trees to the left of the photo

Down went the ferret, 30 seconds later we had two bunnies flying out across the field, BANG BANG, a nice one, two, good start  ferret out and on the the next warren, this warren runs parallel to a beck with thick hedge either side with a small bridge into the next field, ferret down and instantly another two rabbits were out but stuck close to the hedge and at lightning pace, to quick for me but dan managed a good judged shot through a 2ft gap in the hedge  The next two warrens diddnt produce, i know rabbits live there but its quite a large set for just the one ferret so we left them alone (for today) plus with only 30 or so rabbits on the permission i diddnt want to wipe them out as this wouldnt leave any for the S10, back to the car i put my shotty away and gave the S10 a run out, We had a walk up alongside a huge stack of hay bales with a tarp over the top and sat there about 35 yards away was a bunny, down on one knee and a nice thwack let me know that a pellet had struck home  no pressure though as my mate was itching for me to miss so he could give it a barrel lol

Checking zero just after we got there.

Sights still spot on, knocking the striker pin out of shotgun cartridges at 28 yards, mine the left and dans is the right, the left has the pellet flattened onto the face of the cartridge, as the picture shows

So the total was 3 shot gunned rabbits and one taken with the S10
