superfurryanimal 91
just wondering if any of you use it in your dogs ears and if it works? also where can i get it from ? cheers s.f.a.
shepp 2,285
I bought some for my beddy but I feel a bit uneasy using it. It smells very strong and I heard it is a bit toxic. I think a weekly pinch in each ear as a preventative measure against canker I feel alright about, but the cure where you need funnel a larger amount in I think I would avoid. Guest reload
It's excellent stuff not at all natural, but it will solve ear problems very effectively. I have used it in many dogs and ferrets. Edited January 5, 2011 by reload
Halo 0
I have large dogs with very hairy ears & have to clean them regularly, especially as they get very warm so bacteria can grow rapidly & become sore . Recently we had one of the dogs whos ears just would not settle at all, despite meds off the vet. I used the thornit too, but to no avail. I was then told of a product called Quistel. Its a liquid that you fill the ear with (smells kind of surgical, its the only word i can think of!) you then rub the ear to loosen all the crap & let the dog shake its head. Clean the excess with a tissue. It worked wonders! I have not had to do his ears since & they stay lovely & clean now. I now have a bottle in my doggy cabinet for use as & when, but its one of the best i have found so far

Halo 0
I googled it & found it on a few websites, including Amazon.... they have their own website too http://www.quistel.com/information/index.php?page=earcleaner where you can buy it online.
shepp 2,285
Thanks for that, my beddy gets a flare up from time to time and could save me another £60 visit to the vets.
