ferreting sunday

Recommended Posts

i took my son and his friend out ferreting sunday and i just sat and let them get on with it.first we went into a little wood and the dogs marked a 6 hole bury so they netted up and i collared the ferrets up for them.so they put the silver jill in and in no time at all the rabbit was in the net which they sorted pretty quick.so we carried on through the wood and we came to a load of old branches with holes around them so they got on netting and put the other silver jill in we waited a minute or two and one bolted into the net.coming back out of the wood on the other side the dogs marked a 12 hole bury so all netted and put the ferret in and bolted 2 into the nets.we then came out of the wood and crossed the road into another field and worked a hedgerow about half way up the dogs marked so in with the ferret and had another 1 the dogs marked a bury in the middle of the field and they had another 1.we then carried on around and dropped down over another field and we went up the bit of a dingle were the dogs marked and they were going crazy so they netted up the holes on the top but there was holes on the bank just above the stream which i netted but didnt see one under the bank with all grass hanging over it, and where did the 2 rabbits bolt from, yes the hole just above the water which i couldnt see so 2 got away :icon_redface: then they took the piss out of me but that was the end of the day.ended with 6
