John-B 4
Can't believe some of the comments and negativity in this thread, yes the lad should of took the ferret to the vets and now that it has passed away he will know that at the very first sign of any illness that's where it should go. After the first person posted take it to the vets there's no need for everyone to jump on the bandwagon and repeat it over and over again. Quote Link to post

I agree and usually I'm one of the first to offer my opinion, ( I didn't reply and say take it to a vet cos several others had already made their point) but there's offering opinions and there's cyber bullying, easy way out though is for the lad to just not come back to the forum which i'm sure we don't want as i'm pretty sure we're all here to learn and share etc etc Quote Link to post

His ferret took three days to die, and you think it's defensible that he wouldn't take it to the vet ? Yeah, go you ! Quote Link to post
ferretman89 68
whos to say if he took it to the vets it would have lived? As harsh as it is it nature in my opinion and as stated maybe he should have taken to vets but lesson learnt Quote Link to post

His ferret took three days to die, and you think it's defensible that he wouldn't take it to the vet ? Yeah, go you ! OK I have had animals all my life and my man and dad used to have their own pet shop and also quarantine station for importing exotic birds, my dad also used to fly racing pigeons, In my 33 years on this planet I have seen quite possibly thousands of sick animals, from the business side a vet was always called in or from the personal/pets point of view sick animals have always been taken to a vet at the very first sign of illness. From my own pets I have had ferrets, guinea pigs, hamsters, cats and dogs who have been took to the vets at the first sign of any illness some of which have died after a few hours or some after a few days/weeks. I'm not saying in his defence that he "Wouldn't" take it to a vet (pretty sure he would of done at some point) But in his defence I am willing to say that it's a quite natural reaction to seek advice on a well respected forum with knowledgeable people. I have recently recovered from quite a serious illness myself but before I went to the doctors I did some research on the internet and forums, so does that make me bad??? GO ME!!!!!! Kay 3,709
I agree with Bert the fert , the animal was clearly very sick & didnt see a vet so basically took at least 2 days to die... i would have had more respect for someone putting the poor thing out of its misery .. vet or no vet Quote Link to post
