mike1458 14
depends how close you put it to your animals. When I bought my heat lamp it gave a rough guide of how far away it should be for the right temp. Get your self a thermometer and give it a go. ATB Mike

shepp 2,285
They might just keep the chill off the room but they are designed to keep warm an area just below them.

A1an 4
I have heat lamps in all my kennels, if Im honest I wasnt that impressed, to get any proper heat into the dog the lamp would be too close and the terriers would be hanging off them in no time. We have recently had 4 houses built and the building paper (you know, the green/red stuff) was replaced for some super dooper foil backed paper, I whipped some from the builders and lined the inside and roof of my kennels with it.... what a DIFFERENCE!! The kennels are now warm. To give you an idea of the size of kennel with a 750W IR bulb. Edited January 4, 2011 by A1an

A1an 4
Love the use of the water cattle drinkers! How do you get on in the winter with fm freezing? They dont, the pipes are within insulated walls and since puting the foil in the kennel the heat keeps them ice free.
