graham4877 1,181 Posted January 4, 2011 Report Share Posted January 4, 2011 (edited) You need a 800mah charder for 7ah bats, you can use a car charger but you'ed have to time the charge, most car chargers are 4ah or 6ah so you'ed charge your 7ah bat for 1 hour and a bit, with the 6ah charger! 1000ma is one amp so if you have a carger like that it would take 7 hours to charge from flat! jonansuki 21 Posted January 4, 2011 Report Share Posted January 4, 2011 ive give up on the 7 amp batterys because, in basic terms, they are shit for a little bulb like the clulite then yes you might get a decent shift out of one say about about 2-3 hrs lamping but lets be honest here clulites are shit lamps and the price you can pay for these are ridiculous :yes: ive been f*****g around with 7 amps this season but on our last night out my high watt lamp lasted about an hr most :doh: so ive gave up with them now and put my 12v 26 amp on charge :laugh: its off a scrap disability scooter i got out of a garage clearance a few years back but its not overly heavy, completely sealed and once fully charged up will last all night long for 3-4 nights out :toast: my advice to anyone looking for a battery would be to go down a local scrap yard with a tester and ask if you can go through the batterys and see whats there. if you have not got a test just use a piece of wire and touch the terminals together, if you get a spark then the batterys is good i got three perfectly good 7 amp batterys for £5 and the same one in arthur carters are about £17 EACH get a cheap car charger with LED indicators and you will be set up for life :thumbs: just got back from disability place it was 30 quid for a 12v 12amp thats with vat any good? tigtaz 0 Posted January 4, 2011 Report Share Posted January 4, 2011 i used the jump pack 17 amp batteries go all night but car charger eventually cooked them before the end of the season was here. i brought a proper charger from agricultural merchants it charges and when full automatically switches to a maintance mode. also got some batteries from an burglar alarm installer they have them for back up incase of power failure, but cant risk them failing when needed so replace them annually, skipping the year old ones Quote Link to post
