Recognise that Chalk's is talking about Gray Squirrels. K? Squirrels have good PR and thus clean conciounce's. That's why they sleep all night. This is also why a squirrel will stick his head into just about anything we'd call a hole. One hole traps work fine for them.

 

Rats, on the other hand, have a bad vibe about even themselves. They feel suspicious of Everything. Thus we usually try to assuage this bad self image of theirs by showing them all might not be lost. We like to offer Light at the end of the tunnel. Two holes, facing eachother is the order of the day there.

 

Mustalids really don't give a damn. They're creatures quite completely Without conciounce. But they're also diabolically nosey. Hence we usually do the Light trick on them too. But they'll stick their noses into a well presented dead end just as readily ~ if we give them enough encouragement.
