Irish Lurcher 1,013
I am a mad keen pike angler who would rather fish then share love with all the women in my life,(I wish). I find wobbleing a fresh Roach on a slow moving deep river the best method of catching Old Esox. What is your fav method and why. PS the only woman in my life is my Lurcher bitch. Quote Link to post

Irish Lurcher 1,013
Thanks for the replies lads, I see a number of you fish from the tube, I love piking from the tube, maybe I will stick up a piece on the tube I done many years for a angling mag in Ireland. I sold my tube for the comfort of my boat, mind you never got paid for it, did I reynardhunter?? My fav method from the boat is to bottom bounch a large popped up Roach, a killer every time. Have taken many a big Pike on this method, largest pike on the fly is only 12lb, but I live in hope. I did manage to hook a high twenty, but the fcuker got off before I could net him, summer fly fishing for Pike is hard to beat, a big surface fly on a still summers morning in a shallow bay, roll on the summer.
