A First For Us Both.

Recommended Posts

I decided to take Lola out this morning for a walk around the farm to meet the animals and introduce her to the sights and sounds that she needs to get accustomed to,her reward for her behaviour was a mooch around the wood with the hope that something may show for us.We had been walking for about 20 mins when the flick of a squidgers tail caught my eye about 30m away,I moved towards the tree that it had chosen for its safety and watched for any movement,Lola sniffed her way around the other side of the tree which alerted said squidger which scurried around to my side thinking he was safe.I raised the S200 took aim and sent a AA field towards his head, there was a THUD, then gravity took over and he hit the deck. What happened next was quite amazing,Lola ran to the quarry, barked a few times sniffed it then picked it up,I called her to me and she returned with her prize.I must admit it took a while to get it off her but for a first timer I thought the kid done well.Heres hoping this is the start of something special.

Nice one archie, it can take a very long time and lots of effort to train a dog, it sounds like you are off to a flying start, nice shot mate, a big pat on the back for lola on the retrive.

Happy hunting to you both :)

Seriously, I love Spaniels; Springers and Cockers. Lola looks a sweet little dog. I'd love a little companion like that on my shooting sorties with me. Thanks for posting the pic of her.
