Ideation 8,216
Its interesting the collar question and has me thinking now. Knowing what we now know, would we use collared up ferrets on this set in the future. A lot of it is under grass etc so would be ok to dig so doesnt need worrying about. Buuuuut the area with all the shit in it is a worry. We didnt get any kills, the ferrets came up ok, and the collars came off, and it was a f****r to dig to them - so no collars i was thinking? Buuuuut this is just the kind of set where a rabbit could be killed and block a ferret or get itself caught up somehow and that would be a horrible death - so back to thinking collars on! But then again the collars if fitted to my ferrets would not have come off so we would still have one ferret possibly stuck down there hooked up on some wire - so collars off? Frankly i've no idea - probably collars on for me and if worst came to worst . . . . . we WOULD dig through. Whats your thoughts? Shame anyhow - if we'd had all the ferrets (mine are in sick bay with the flu) and hadn't had a dig we'd have picked up a good few more i expect. But it was still one of the best days in a long while, a great laugh. Quote Link to post

Yeh it is interesting but as you know I don't usually use locaters and have been ferreting that warren for many, many years now and never encountered a problem or lost a ferret in there.Though there is a first time for everything,I would personally keep using collars on this warren at least then if there is a lay up or a problem you've got a pointer yes its hard digging but it still can be dug. Yes it was a good day........and as always mate a great laugh in good company which is always a bonus Quote Link to post
