permissions hard to come by

hi all

 

im new here so please try and excuse me if i ask a question every now and then that has been asked to death already.

 

ive been asking around for permissions for 2 or 3 weeks now and every time i seem to get a similar "just bugger off" kind of reply twinned with some extremely dirty looks. is this normal or am i maybe doing something to offend these people. im not rude in any way even when i do get told to do one.

 

if anybody has any ideas of people and places in west sussex to ask then it would be most appreciated.

Just a thought but it could be the way you are dressed? try to dress smartly to give a good impression as the peoples first impression will be based a lot on apperance.

I saw a land-rover in a field today, so stopped to try and speak to the farmer to ask for permission. No one about.....BANG!!!! farmer saw me, and shot his 12bore in the air...must have thought I was eyeing up his landy. I waited till he came over. Aright I said. "No you" is how it started. He actually turned out a nice old boy chatted for 20 mins or so , he told me he doesn't give permission to anyone for anything any-more after to many people had taken the piss and thieved off him. He said it was a shame, as younguns like myself would honourably walk his land and treat it with respect. GUTTED

Its a shame some people ruin it for others

i had alot of land owners say the same to me but i carry introductory letters and a couple of reffrence letters with me from a couple of shoots i already have along with a letter of good charictor reff from a police oficer i know,helps alot i must say

Be clean and do all the hunting right if you get anything offer it to the land owner this way there no you are all right and no that it will be ok to let you ferret or have guns have you licence with you or as we do farmers and landowners ring we ring them or they ring us to go on the land if we see any problems we tell them
